  • 500 grams of large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 ½ tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup heavy cream or cream
  • 2 tablespoons chipotle chiles in adobo sauce
  • 8 scallions, sliced and chopped
  • ¼ cup tequila
  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste


  1. Place shrimp in a bowl and sprinkle with salt and pepper, in a large skillet over medium heat add butter and allow to melt.
  2. When the butter begins to sizzle, add the garlic, stir and cook for 10 to 15 seconds until it releases its aroma.
  3. Add the shrimp, making sure the pan is not too full, let them brown on one side and then the other, for 1 to 2 minutes per side.
  4. Add the tequila and tilt the pan slightly over the fire to light it, let it cook until the flames disappear.
  5. Stir in the cream and chipotle sauce, stir your chipotle cream shrimp and serve immediately, sprinkling with chives and black pepper to taste.

  • If you are thinking of adding another liquor to the mixture, you can use mezcal, we assure you that it will enhance the flavor of your shrimp dish.
