Shrimps in chipotle sauce with sour cream are juicy and are part of the repertoire of delicious Mexican seafood recipes, absolutely practical and simple to prepare!
Ingredients
- 500 grams of large shrimp
- 3 chipotle chiles in adobo sauce
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon butter
- ¼ onion, chopped
- 2 garlic, chopped
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Preparation
- Devein the shrimp by making a cut in the back with a knife, rinse with plenty of water and remove excess intestines. Then set aside in a large bowl.
- In a blender, add the chipotle chili, milk, sour cream and salt. Blend until smooth and homogeneous.
- In a large skillet over medium-low heat, melt the butter, add the shrimp, salt and pepper to taste and cook, stirring occasionally, for 3-4 minutes until they turn pink.
- Then add the onion and garlic and cook stirring constantly for 1 minute, or until the onion is translucent.
- Add the chipotle cream sauce to the skillet and stir to combine, cooking for 1 minute. Then remove your sour cream enchipotle shrimp from the heat and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Tips
- You can swap the sour cream for cream cheese for a richer, thicker consistency. However, you will have to add more milk to the mixture for it to be fully incorporated.
- If you don’t like spicy, use just 1 chipotle chile. You’ll still get that delicious smoky chipotle flavor to your sour cream enchipotle shrimp without losing that special spicy kick.
- To prepare this recipe, we suggest that the bigger the shrimp, the better. That’s why we use large shrimp.
