Ingredients
- 900 grams of shrimp
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 8 cloves of garlic
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
- Wash well, peel the shrimp and with a knife make a cut on the top to remove the vein they contain.
- Rinse the shrimp again and leave them in a colander to drain the water.
- Grind 4 cloves of garlic in a mortar with a pinch of salt and add the mixture to the shrimp, stir well and then add pepper to taste. Cover with plastic wrap and let stand for 10 minutes.
- Mince the remaining 4 cloves of garlic and in a hot skillet over medium-low heat, add butter and olive oil. Stir the garlic constantly to prevent it from burning, then add the shrimp and stir the mixture occasionally.
- Once the shrimp turn pink on each side, about 5 minutes, they are done.
Tips
- If you want the shrimp to be much more seasoned, you can leave them in the refrigerator for 1 hour along with the garlic, salt and pepper mixture.
- Keep adjusting the amount of pepper to add. Another recommendation is to use butter instead of margarine, since margarine doesn’t burn as fast.
- In case you have frozen shrimp at home, it is best to defrost 30 minutes or more in advance.
