Shrimp with pasta and cream

Shrimp with pasta and cream is an easy, quick and delicious recipe that includes tomatoes combined with a rich and flavorful garlic mozzarella cheese sauce. You need very little time and knowledge to prepare this creamy shrimp pasta recipe.

Ingredients

  • 240 grams (8 ounces) farfalle pasta
  • 450 grams (1 pound) shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 150 grams (150 grams) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Grated Parmesan cheese to taste
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 120 grams (4 ounces) chopped sun-dried tomatoes
  • 240 milliliters (1 cup) whipping cream
  • 60 milliliters (¼ cup) vegetable or chicken stock
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • ¼ teaspoon red bell pepper flakes
  • ¼ teaspoon of paprika
  • ½ cup water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Reserve 1 cup of the cooked pasta water, drain with the help of a colander and use it later.
  2. Meanwhile, heat 2 tablespoons oil in a large skillet over medium heat, add shrimp and cook on each side for about 2 minutes until shrimp are pink or golden brown on both sides. Season shrimp with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and tomatoes. Sauté the sun-dried tomatoes in the remaining oil from the shrimp over medium heat, stirring for 1 to 2 minutes until the garlic releases its aroma. Add the broth to the pan and bring to a simmer.
  4. Add the shredded mozzarella and continue to simmer the sauce, stirring constantly, until all the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy. If sauce is too thick, add a small amount of reserved cooked pasta water.
  5. Add dried basil, crushed red pepper flakes, paprika and stir well. Season to taste with salt and black pepper.
  6. Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and heat again over low heat, stirring in the cooked shrimp. Let everything simmer for a couple of minutes so that the flavors blend well.

Finally you can sprinkle grated parmesan cheese to taste and a little pepper, serve the shrimp with pasta and garlic cream immediately. Enjoy!
