Today we will prepare some delicious shrimp in mango habanero sauce, easy to make and with a smooth and juicy consistency.
This dish is ideal for those who love complex flavors and are ready to taste the incredible combination of tender shrimp with chiles and spices.
Ingredients
- 800 grams shrimp, peeled, deveined and rinsed
- 1 ripe mango, peeled and cored
- 2 habanero peppers, stems removed
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 tablespoon freshly chopped ginger
- 3 medium garlic cloves
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- ¼ cup vegetable (canola) oil
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation
- Place the habaneros, mango, lime juice, garlic, ginger, garam masala and brown sugar in the pitcher of a blender. Cover and puree until smooth. Remove the filler cap and, with the motor running, drizzle in the oil. Season with salt to taste.
- In a skillet over medium heat add olive oil, once hot add shrimp and cook on each side for 1 minute or until pink.
- Remove shrimp from skillet and place in a bowl. Another cooking option is to flour the shrimp and fry them in a skillet with plenty of hot oil over medium-high heat.
- Serve your shrimp in mango habanero sauce with rice, beans or the salad of your choice. Enjoy!
Tips
- You can prepare this dish by threading the shrimp onto skewers, pressing each shrimp together so they touch each other and cook better.
- You can also put the shrimp in a large zip-top bag and pour in the marinade. Seal the bag and put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 1 hour. This way you can grill them.
- To prepare this tasty dish we used medium sized shrimp, they were about 10cm long (peeled, but including the tail) and about 1cm thick.
