Tequila Shrimp

Tequila shrimp

One of the recipes I liked the most was the tequila shrimp recipe. The mixture of flavors in this dish is simply amazing, the texture that the shrimp take when sautéed in tequila along with lemon, olive oil, salt and pepper, leave an exquisite sensation and smell to the palate. We invite you to prepare this simple and easy recipe.

  • 500 grams of shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 cloves of chopped garlic
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cumin
  • Tequila
  • 2 lemons
  • 1 jalapeño pepper
  • Fresh cilantro
  • ¼ finely chopped onion

  1. In a skillet over medium-low heat, add the butter at room temperature, then add the garlic and finely chopped onion and cook for 30 seconds or once you notice that it begins to release its peculiar aroma. Stir constantly to avoid burning the butter.
  2. Add the shrimp and cook for 5 minutes or until you notice that they are pink, stirring constantly.
  3. Finally add the finely chopped chili, salt and pepper to taste. Stir for 10 seconds and then add the chopped clilantro. That’s it, you have delicious tequila shrimp to serve with rice, beans or whatever you like.

  • You can use ground chili powder since it’s easier to get, or you can use canned chipotle chili and then chop it finely.
  • Keep in mind that the cooking time of the preparation depends on the size of the shrimp; if you use smaller ones, it will take less time to get your dish ready.
  • Don’t let the shrimp overcook and don’t let the tequila lose all of its alcohol, once you feel it start to evaporate it’s time to add the chili and cook for just a few seconds.
