Bacon and cheese stuffed shrimp

Today we bring you some exquisite shrimp stuffed with cheese and bacon with a special glaze made with honey, salt and pepper.

A really easy and quick dish to prepare, ideal to serve with rice and salads.

  • 1 kilogram of deveined jumbo shrimp
  • 1 kilogram of fine bacon
  • 220 grams of cream cheese
  • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon thinly sliced scallions
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup honey
  • ½ teaspoon fresh thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Before starting, mix honey, salt, pepper, brown sugar and thyme in a pot and cook until the sugar melts and the glaze forms. (This dressing is optional*)

  1. Remove the shells from the shrimp, leaving the tails on. Use a sharp knife to cut them into butterfly shapes.
  2. Preheat the oven to 220 Celsius, place the bacon on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil and cook for 10 minutes. Drain the bacon on a paper towel.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the room temperature cream cheese with the scallion, garlic and sriracha sauce.
  4. Stuff each shrimp with 1 teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture and wrap with a slice of bacon.
  5. Place the shrimp on a greased wire rack and place on the indirect heat side of the grill.
  6. Grill the shrimp for 8 minutes or until they turn pink and the bacon is browned.
  7. Spoon the honey glaze over your bacon and cheese stuffed shrimp, reserving the rest for serving.
  8. Cook the shrimp 1 minute longer, remove from the heat and then serve the shrimp with the honey glaze.

  • If you don’t like the glaze for your shrimp, you can serve them with hot sauce. We give you the option to choose the dressing of your preference to give that special touch to your shrimp.
