Today we bring you some crunchy and delicious shrimp stuffed with bacon, an ideal hors d’oeuvre to enjoy on any occasion with a cold drink, accompanied by family and friends!


  • 12 jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 6 strips of bacon cut in halves
  • 3 jalapeño peppers
  • ¼ cup panko bread crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • Zest and juice of 1 lime
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons of meat sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  1. Place the oven rack on top and preheat the broiler to high. Add the bread crumbs, garlic, mayonnaise, jalapeños, lemon zest and juice, parsley, 2 tablespoons of the meat sauce and ½ teaspoon of salt to a large bowl and stir until well combined.
  2. Make a deep slit in the back of each shrimp and open into a butterfly shape. Place the shrimp on a baking sheet and press firmly with your fingers to lay flat.
  3. Evenly coat with the chili mixture, then place a piece of bacon through the chili mixture on each shrimp, tucking the ends under the shrimp and making sure they do not overlap.
  4. Roast until the bacon begins to crisp, about 10 minutes. Remove from the oven, top with the remaining tablespoon of meat sauce and continue grilling until the bacon is lightly charred, about 2 minutes more depending on your grill.
  5. Once ready, remove your bacon stuffed shrimp from the oven, let cool slightly on a plate and serve with rice and salad.

  • Don’t feel you are limited to using shrimp… you could also use pieces of chicken, shredded pork, smoked crab pieces, whatever you like.
  • If you don’t like the flavor of the jalapeño, you can remove it from the preparation, use another type of chile or substitute it with hot sauce to taste after cooking.
